The Mama Self-Care Reset

The Mama Self-Care Reset

And just like that, it’s back to school time. The summer break is winding down and we’re checking things off the school supply list. The kids will be back in school full-time time and there are lots of loose ends to tie up. While back to school is like hitting the reset button for them, we can look at it the same way for ourselves. All of us are jumping back into more routines and the schedules will only be getting more hectic. If you ask us, it seems like a great time for a self-care reset.

Take some time to look over your self-care routines to see where some things may have fallen off. Do you need to do more of something or less of something else? So many of us have traveled over the summer and that can make it harder to stay on top of your self-care game. If you’ve gotten off track a bit, the new school year is a great time to re-focus and prevent burnout as life speeds up again. If you know you can do more to meet some of your other needs, keep reading. We’ve got a few ways to step up your self-care game, mamas.

Self Care Reset

Get Outdoors

Get outside more! It can be as simple as taking long walks, with some good music or a podcast. If you want some company on your walk, check out the ladies of GirlTrek. It’s never a bad idea to do more outdoors. Whether it’s a walk around your neighborhood, a family hike, or a bike ride – there are plenty of ways to make it happen.

More Hobbies

One hobby we love is reading! Check out some of our book suggestions in previous posts. Some other things to consider for hobbies are jewelry making or candle making. There’s a really cool candle-making kit we found that would be great to get started. Knitting is super relaxing and when the weather cools down, you could make yourself a nice blanket. Just throwing that out there.

Do All The Things

For so many of us, a side effect of COVID was being less social – and getting used to it. If that’s you, maybe you start easing your way back to pre-COVID times and find ways to get out more and be more social. Oh, was that one just for us? Fine. Carry on.

These are areas where you can be more intentional about hitting the reset button on your self-care routine. What could you do to step up yours?
